@n0madz@wzrds.fun I have a home server with a bunch of self hosted services. Ive got lemmy, bookwyrm, and a host of other apps.

@michael that’s very cool. Probably should’ve known but i wasn’t aware you could self host a bookwyrm instance. I might have to look into this.

@n0madz@wzrds.fun Yep theres a couple of different ways.

Easiest to hardest (if you have the hardware): 1. Set up yunohost and click install on bookwyrm. 2. Set up docker and just run though the docker commands 3. Set up everything on the getting started instructions 4. do it all yourself.

Hope that helps! Its a standard Django setup if your familiar. The only thing I customized is removing the ability to email/registration. We dont really need that and I only want to have at most 5 people on my personal instance.

@michael thank you for sharing! I seriously appreciate this. Bookwyrm is definitely one of my favorite federated features I’ve discovered so this sounds like something fun to tinker with. Thanks again!
